Murray Hill: Let’s Call It A Comeback!

Murray Hill: Let’s Call It A Comeback!

September 29 - September 30, 2022

Murray Hill: Let's Call It A Comeback! is an ecstatic and heartfelt comedy show about a man who loves to perform and performs to live. After working in showbiz for 300 years, Murray Hill is back at Joe's Pub to celebrate with his old-school comedy, ad-libs, light crooning, and original music by his band The Rimshots! This year, Murray Hill's apartment burned down and he lost everything. Well, everything but his love for showbiz! So he's coming back like a phoenix rising from the ashes, or a middle-aged man rising with the help of Viagra.

With a few recent TV roles under his belly and belt (Somebody Somewhere, Life & Beth, Welcome To Flatch) Murray Hill is preparing to make it big…again. This is his year! Or maybe it'll be next year that's his year! Even 2025 has a nice ring to it. Showbiz!

Called “the reigning patriarch of downtown performance” by The New York Times, Hill shines a spotlight on a man who keeps going despite years of struggles and heartbreak. His original and genre-busting persona is the 21st-century answer to Pee-wee Herman. He’s Don Rickles with a post-modern twist. After decades in the biz and a society that just might be “woke” enough now, it’s time for Murray Hill’s seamless, original gender-bending to take center stage. After what some are calling "hands down the worst years of our lives," Murray Hill's positive, disarming comedy will have you laughing for the first time since 2019.

Murray Hill, “the hardest working middle-aged man in show business,” is a relentless retro shtick slinger, larger-than-life personality, and freewheeling ad-libber. Murray’s razor-sharp wit and frenetic showman antics have delighted folks worldwide for longer than Zendaya's been alive. It only took 25 years but now he's in three television shows and not one of them is a true-crime documentary. You can watch Murray in "Somebody Somewhere" (HBO), "Life & Beth" (Hulu), and "Welcome To Flatch" (FOX). See him live and in person before he gets too famous for live appearances. Or his back gives out. One or the other! Things are looking up! Showbiz!
